GXO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: GXO), the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider, announced today the appointment of Alessandro Renzo as Managing Director of GXO for Italy and Switzerland. He will take over the role from Ube Gaspari, who is retiring after 25 years with the company.

Following graduation from Politecnico di Milano, where he studied management engineering, Renzo started his career at GXO in operations engineering in 2007. He has held several roles, including in business development, Business Unit Director and finally Operations Director before being appointed as Managing Director.

GXO’s Italian and Swiss business units comprise more than 40 sites with a total of about 1.2 million square meters of space where the company manages logistics for nearly 100 customers, primarily in the ecommerce, fashion & luxury, retail, beauty & cosmetics, pharmaceutical, FMCG and electronics sectors. These sites include a new 20,000-square-meter state-of-the-art multi-client warehouse for the pharmaceutical sector. The facility in Settala, Italy, is equipped with industry-leading technology, temperature controls and environmental systems to optimize storage, distribution, co-packing and returns management for pharmaceutical products.
