XPO kondigt Baris Oran aan als Chief Financial Officer voor GXO Logistics Spin-Off

XPO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: XPO) heeft vandaag aangekondigd dat Baris Oran de chief financial officer wordt van GXO Logistics, Inc.de beoogde spin-off van XPO's logistieke activiteiten. Oran treedt in dienst bij XPO als chief financial officer van het logistieke segment, met ingang van mei 2021, en zal leiding geven aan de wereldwijde financiële organisatie van GXO wanneer de geplande afsplitsing is voltooid.

Oran's 20-jarige financiële carrière omvat C-suite rollen bij multinationale marktleiders. Meest recentelijk was hij CFO van de Sabanci Group, een van de grootste beursgenoteerde ondernemingen van Turkije, met dochterondernemingen in de industriële sector, retail en financiële dienstverlening en een gezamenlijke omzet van meer dan $15 miljard. Als CFO voerde hij talrijke IPO-, M&A- en desinvesteringstransacties uit, verbeterde hij de kapitaalallocatie en leidde hij initiatieven op het gebied van schuldafbouw en risicobeheer.

Oran was eerder onder meer hoofd financiën bij Sabanci en CFO van Kordsa, een wereldwijde vernieuwer van industriële versterkingstechnologieën. Hij is voorzitter, vicevoorzitter of bestuurslid geweest van acht beursgenoteerde bedrijven en vier privébedrijven, waaronder voorzitter van de raad van bestuur van Teknosa, een omnichannel retailer in de Sabanci Group. Oran behaalde een mastergraad in bedrijfskunde aan de Universiteit van Georgia en een getuigschrift in gevorderd management aan de Kellogg School of Management van de Northwestern University. Hij is lid van de raad van bestuur van TUSIAD, een filiaal van de Confederation of European Business (BusinessEurope), en lid van de CNBC Global CFO Council.

Zoals eerder aangekondigd, verwacht XPO de verzelfstandiging van zijn logistieke activiteiten als een afzonderlijk, beursgenoteerd bedrijf in de tweede helft van 2021 te voltooien. Als de op één na grootste aanbieder van contractlogistiek ter wereld zal GXO zich in een goede positie bevinden om te profiteren van de grote stuwkracht van de uitbreiding van e-commerce, de vraag van klanten naar logistieke automatisering en een ontluikende trend naar uitbesteding van de toeleveringsketen. De activiteiten omvatten momenteel ongeveer 890 locaties in 27 landen.
