Social joint venture helped close to 800 differently abled individuals and unskilled workers connect with employment over the last ten years

GXO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: GXO), the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider, joins ARES in celebrating the 10  anniversary of their social joint-venture, Log’ins, which promotes social inclusion in France. The anniversary coincides with the 25  edition of the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities (EWPD), which takes place throughout the week of November 15, 2021.

“We’re proud to celebrate our decade-long social joint-venture, Log’ins,” said Bernard Wehbe, GXO Managing Director, France. “More than two dozen GXO and ARES employees support workers from the Log’ins program, and we are all delighted to play a role in helping these individuals find fulfilling work and contribute to our success, in line with our commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging.”

In France, Log’ins provides training and employment assistance to workers who are differently abled or in other ways unable to effectively fill positions in logistics and other fields. Drawing on GXO’s expertise, the program trains participants in logistics jobs, such as forklift operation and order preparation, as well as in skills that help them succeed in a traditional workplace environment. Through ARES, participants receive individualized social support to help them find housing and financial assistance.

Since its start in 2011 at a facility at Le Coudray-Montceaux (Essonne), Log’ins has grown steadily and now has its own 12,000-square-meter logistics facility at Villabé (Essonne) as well as several branches at GXO facilities in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Ile-de-France regions. Over the last ten years, 70 percent of differently abled Log’ins participants have found employment or received additional training toward their goals.

“Log’ins is changing how people think about the value of hiring differently abled colleagues,” said Guillaume Hérisson, ARES managing director. “I am proud that ARES and GXO are shining a light on the advantages of a fully inclusive workforce. Together, we congratulate Log’ins for its 10  anniversary and look forward to the next decade.”

Today, approximatively 150 workers are participating in the Log’ins program in the Lyon and Paris regions and work on a daily basis in the Villabé site or one of eight participating GXO warehouses.
