XPO Logistics Expands Support of Avon in Poland with Serialized Product Labeling Solution
Lyon, France | February 17, 2021
XPO Logistics, a leading global provider of transport and logistics solutions, has expanded its partnership with Avon in Poland with a new serialization labeling solution at its main European distribution center in Garwolin (Warsaw region). XPO has supported the world’s largest direct seller of beauty products for more than a decade with warehousing and co-packing of its products for European markets.
XPO developed the labeling solution for Avon in response to new Chestny ZNAK regulations in Russia intended to protect consumers by keeping fake and substandard products out of the marketplace. Avon has taken the lead in complying with the regulations by serializing products containing alcohol and textiles exported to Russia, one of Avon’s largest markets for fragrances.
XPO implemented dedicated software for data exchange in order to support Chestny ZNAK compliance, and adapted its warehouse management system to enable specialized tracking of cosmetic and textile products. At the Garwolin warehouse operated by XPO, 40 employees have been assigned to label an estimated eight million product units a year, operating five days a week in three shifts.
“XPO’s agility and technology have served us well since the beginning of our logistics collaboration,” said Andy Wills, head of logistics for Avon in Poland. “With their support, we have a fully compliant labeling solution for serialization, ensuring uninterrupted access to high-quality Avon products for our customers in Russia.”
Marc Pastuzak, managing director, supply chain – Poland for XPO Logistics, said, “Our team is focused on providing Avon with the customized solutions they need to address the diverse requirements of their European markets. The development of dedicated logistics services for the cosmetics industry is a specialization of XPO in Poland, and we’re pleased that our customer Avon is benefitting from our expertise.”
