XPO Logistics and TTI Open a Sustainable European Distribution Centre

XPO Logistics, a leader in transport and logistics solutions, today opened a new European distribution centre in Eindhoven for Techtronic Industries (TTI). The site distributes TTI’s consumer product lines to European markets, including power tools and equipment, outdoor products and accessories.

XPO is responsible for inbound and outbound logistics management, warehousing, kitting and other services for TTI global brands, including Ryobi and AEG Power Tools. The 35,000 square meter facility is strategically located next to XPO’s logistics campus in Eindhoven, with direct access to a large European transport network. The operation is expected to create about 100 new jobs in the region.

Paolo Balloni, vice president, supply chain management EMEA, Techtronic Industries, said, “We have seen tremendous growth in our consumer brands at TTI as we continue to expand our share across Europe. A dedicated distribution centre is the next logical step to drive efficiencies in our supply chain and serve our growing markets. We have found a good partner for this in XPO.”

Mauro Ungheretti, XPO’s managing director for Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, said, “The trades sector is going through a rapid transition, in part because of COVID-19. DIY stores, for example, are offering more products online and consumers are making larger purchases. This is an area of focus for XPO, and we are proud that TTI has chosen to collaborate with us.”

The new distribution centre has been designed and built to the highest sustainability standards with the aim of earning a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) ‘very good’ sustainability rating. Additionally, XPO and TTI are working together to achieve CO2 neutrality at the site in the future.
