Customer challenge

This customer, a global technology leader in minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery systems, was seeking a logistics partner to meet service requirements for a new regional distribution center to support growth. The customer selected GXO based on our detailed proposal and their confidence in our operational execution. GXO had previously provided overflow support for this customer’s inventory demonstrating our ability to start up quickly and respond to volume adjustments as needed.

Solution

GXO supports this customer from a multi-customer healthcare facility which ensures local licensing and regulatory requirements are met. Using our in-place WMS serving other healthcare customers, GXO manages this customer’s inventory of instruments and accessories and provides order fulfillment to hospitals and surgical centers.

GXO processes domestic and international orders using freight and parcel shipping channels. Value-added services include vacuum sealing Mylar bags for international ocean shipments, kitting and returns processing.

Results

GXO completed the start-up on time and within budget while accommodating an accelerated timeline.

GXO is meeting or exceeding all contractual KPIs:

  • Inventory accuracy – 99.9%
  • Dock to stock – 99.5%
  • System uptime – 99.5%
  • On time shipping – 99.5%

GXO will provide additional space and workforce to this customer using a phased approach to manage costs while ensuring future capacity to support ongoing growth.
